Group description: |
The optical radiation emitted or modified by objects is a very important source of information about their nature, their state, their morphology, their interaction with the environment and about some physical processes that occur in them. For this reason, in addition to being an essential part of Optics, the analysis and measurement of optical radiation is an essential element of work in many scientific disciplines and supports the competitiveness of modern industry and the development of new products and improved processes. .
This group develops its research so that these measurements are made in the best possible way in each circumstance, developing measurement patterns and methods and studying their uncertainties and limitations, in the UV, visible and near infrared ranges.
In particular, it has developed the average patterns of the Photometry, Radiometry and Fiber Optics Laboratory that have been recognized as national standards of the units of the international system SI candela and lumen. |
