The exhibition "A universe of light "reveals the properties of light and describes its main applications, highlighting the roleThey play in our day to day. Tools like microscopes and telescopes, new light fixtures, lasers and fiber optics are the protagonists of this exhibition, which are also present the evolution of light in art, their use in energy production or uses in medicine for diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
"A Universe of Light" was made by the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) as part of the celebration in 2015 of the
International Year of Light and Light based technologies, declared by the United Nations. In its development has involved a multidisciplinary team of experts headed by Joaquín Campos, director of the
Institute of Optics at the CSIC.
