The University of Salamanca appoints our colleague Susana Marcos as an honorary member
On April 10, the Alumni-University of Salamanca celebrated today the appointment of honorary partners to our colleague and director of the Visual Optics and Biophotonics laboratory, Susana Marcos, Ana Pastor, former speaker of the Congress, and Manuel Mirat, CEO of Grupo Prisa, in a ceremony that was chaired by the rector of the university, Ricardo Rivero. The distinction was presented by Prof. Angela Calvo.
The University of Salamanca is the oldest university in Spain (800 years) and one of the oldest in Europe. The ceremony took place in the imposing Aula Magna of the historic building of the University.
This session has complied with the agreement adopted by the General Assembly of Members held electronically in June 2020, in which the proposal of the Board of Directors was ratified to appoint Ana Pastor as honorary members of Alumni-USAL Julián, vice president of the Congress of Deputies and graduate in Medicine and Surgery; and Susana Marcos Celestino, physicist and researcher specialized in human vision, with a degree and a doctorate in Physical Sciences. The third partner named in that meeting, Manuel Mirat, could not finally attend due to an unavoidable professional trip, and will receive accreditation from him shortly.
During the session, presented by José Luis Fuentecilla, President of Alumni-USAL, Angela Calvo, Honorary President of Alumni, and Bernardo Hernández, digital entrepreneur and Alumni advisor, also took part, who were in charge of defending the appointment of the new partners honorary.
