Dr. Mario García Lechuga has won the first prize of the VII Edition of the Justiniano Casas Prize for Research in Optical Imaging, for the work related to his doctoral thesis entitled "Image techniques with temporal resolution applied to the processing of materials with ultrashort laser pulses" , directed by Dr. Francisco Javier Solís Céspedes and Dr. Jan Siegel carried out at the Daza de Valdés Optical Institute of the CSIC and defended at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
These awards sponsored by LASING seek to promote and encourage scientific research in the fields related to Optical Imaging, from progress in knowledge to the development of applications in this area. In particular, it is intended to stimulate research activity in its beginnings, within the framework of doctoral studies, and to encourage the incorporation of new researchers to this field.
The official award ceremony and second prize to the winners will be held within the framework of the National Optics Meeting, which will take place in July 2021 at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
