The Institute of Optics has participated this year in the promotion of the International Day of Girls and Women in Science by organizing events, lectures and creating graphic material for the occasion.

These events include the participation in the event "Científicas, la nueva generación" organized by the Women, Optics and Photonics Area of the Spanish Society of Optics that has been held in the Faculty of Physics of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Talks and workshops have also been given in schools and institutes such as the CEIP Pintor Rosales, IES Isaac Albéniz, IES La Fortuna and others.

In addition, a poster has been prepared in homage to all the researchers of the Institute of Optics during the Franco era.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to say that in the Institute of Optics the proportion of women is currently 43%.
