2019 RSEF Physics, Innovation and Technology Award for Carlos Dorronsoro
Our colleague Carlos Dorronsoro of the Visual and Biophotonics Optics group has received the Physics, Innovation and Technology Award from the Royal Spanish Physics Society (RSEF-BBVA).

The Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF) is a continuing non-profit institution of the Physical Sciences branch of the Royal Spanish Society of Physics and Chemistry (RSEFQ), founded in 1903 and divided in 1980 into the current Royal Societies of Physics (RSEF) and Chemistry (RSEQ).
Its objective is to promote the development of physics in the aspects of basic knowledge and its applications, as well as to promote scientific research and the teaching of physics in all educational fields.

The prize has been awarded for “his research activities aimed at the development and transfer of optical technologies with social and economic impact”. The jury highlighted “his professional career always linked to innovation in physics, identifying his business opportunities”.
