A portable CSIC simulator allows the patient to experience how to improve his vision before surgery
Today, scientists from the Institute of Optics have presented at a press conference for television the new device called SimVis, which allows the patient and surgeons to experience how they will improve their vision before undergoing cataract or presbyopia surgery.
For the correction of these vision problems, there are different types of lenses available to implant them in the eye, and now the patient and the surgeon will have more data when deciding on one.

The new device in the form of binocular helmet is about to be released to the market although it is already being tested in several clinics. Its design is similar to virtual reality glasses, very comfortable and can be controlled from a mobile app

The novel device is owned by the company 2EyesVision S.L., a spin-off emerged in part of the Institute of Optics
