Network Centro Español de Metrología (CEM) & Laboratorios Asociados (LL.AA.)
The Spanish Metrology Center and its Associated Laboratories have created this network with the aim of opening their unique research facilities to the scientific community in a transparent and competitive manner, which facilitates addressing key social challenges, such as energy sustainability, the environment and health with new technologies of reliable measures that promote and accelerate technological innovation through metrology.
These facilities cover a wide spectrum of quantities, equipment and services and are, therefore, essential to meet the current and future research requirements of scientists, industry, legislators and policy makers.
The CEM and the LL. AA. provide more than 20,000 m2 of specialized laboratories, which include facilities for mechanical, optical, electrical, physical-chemical, kinematic and dynamic quantities, photometry, radiometry, radioactivity, dosimetry and neutronics, with more than 180 experts in metrology, being doctors more than 20% of them, for the operation of these facilities.
The
service charter of this network includes advice and support in technological developments that require measurements with primary metrological traceability, high accuracy and low uncertainty in the measurement fields covered by the infrastructure (physics, chemistry, biology, ionizing radiation, etc.) up to the development of standards and measurement instrumentation adapted to the processes or products, as well as support in metrology for access to European R & D + i programs.
