Biophotonics is a research area with great technological and social impact, in which different research groups of the CSIC work, such as the Visual and Biophotonics Optics Group of the CSIC Institute of Optics (IO-CSIC). However, there is not a wide variety of training courses in Biophotonics and the official Masters in Optical Engineering and Photonics give a very general vision of what Photonics is without deepening the Bio applications.

The objective of this specialization course is to provide the basic knowledge for applications in Visual and Biophotonic Optics technologies to predoctoral researchers with experience and previous training in Visual Optics and Optical Engineering, so that they acquire the necessary specialized knowledge to be an active part of a research group in Visual and Biophotonic Optics.
