Next April 16 at 12 noon within the conference cycle “Science in the first person”, we will be able to attend the conference entitled “The void, when nothing is important” that will be given by our colleague Juan Pedro Adrados responsible for Low Pressure Laboratory, belonging to the Madrid Community Laboratory Network.

In the conference he will tell us what is meant by vacuum, what techniques are used to achieve it and how working in vacuum conditions is important for many applications and manufacturing systems today. It will also describe the historical evolution of vacuum science up to the present day.

Juan Pedro Adrados Encinas has a degree in Physical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Specialized Higher Degree from the CSIC, attached to the “Daza de Valdés” Institute of Optics.
He is currently responsible for the Low Pressure Laboratory, where he develops his activity in the field of vacuum technology and its applications, which began four decades ago.
He has collaborated in more than a dozen research projects, contributing his knowledge for the development and commissioning of equipment and systems that work under vacuum conditions.
In addition, he has carried out various quality assurance tests on devices destined for other research centers and space missions.
