The Institute of Optics joins the celebration of 11F

In recent decades, the international community has made a great effort to inspire and promote the participation of women and girls in science. However, women still face obstacles to their development in the field of science.

 

This year, the Institute of Optics has participated in the promotion of the International Day of Girls and Women in Science by organizing events and talks.

Latest news

These activities include the talk “We are researchers: research in a Physics laboratory” organized by the Laser Processing group in which Rosalía Serna, together with her students and technicians, will go to give workshops at the IES Blas de Otero in Madrid.

At the IES Ramiro de Maeztu, they will participate in workshops organized by the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid in which, through experiments related to optics and the properties of materials and carried out in the same class, they will try to encourage scientific vocations among the students.

Finally, María Viñas, from the Visual Optics and BioPhotonics group, will give a talk at the CEIP Pintor Rosales in Madrid.
