Job offer. Research Assistant – CAM Youth Guarantee 2022

The Laser Processing Group is looking for a research assistant for a contract type Youth Guarantee CAM 2022 (2 years).
Deadline to apply: September 26, 2022
The Laser Processing Group of the Institute of Optics is looking for a research assistant to offer a contract of 2 years within the CAM Youth Guarantee Program.
Main theme of the work
The Laser Processing Group has recently demonstrated the possibility of producing large-scale periodic surface nanostructures in metals, semiconductors and dielectrics, as well as in multilayers of nanoparticles embedded in dielectrics. All this allows the functionalization of a wide range of materials in different configurations (massive or thin sheet) within a broad spectrum of applications that includes the field of photonics (an area of strategic interest for CAM).
El/ The research assistant will carry out research work on the production of nano-structures with shaped ultrashort laser pulses and the analysis of their photonic functionality. After the training period, the assistant may choose to continue a professional technical career or acquire a master’s or doctorate degree in various technical scientific specialties.
Requirements
– Degree in Physics, Degree in Materials Engineering, Degree in Telecommunication Sciences and Technologies, Degree in Telecommunication Technologies Engineering, Degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering, Degree in Physical Engineering, Degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Diploma or Degree in Optics or Optics and Optometry, Degree in Experimental Sciences.
– Be under 30 years old
– Be registered in the file of the National Youth Guarantee System
Desired skills
– Skills and interest in experimental work with lasers.
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in Spanish and English.
– Previous knowledge of radiation-matter interaction.
Research environment
The work program is part of the activities of the Laser Processing Group of the “Daza de Valdés” Institute of Optics of the CSIC currently being developed in within the framework of a project coordinated with the Autonomous University of Madrid: “Structuring of advanced materials using ultrafast lasers for applications in photonics, sensing and bio-actuation” (PID2020-112770RB-C21).
