The magazine “Luz: Information magazine of the “Daza de Valdés” Optics Institute and the Spanish Illumination Committee” was an original outreach project promoted by the Optics Institute, in collaboration with the Spanish Optics Committee and the Spanish Committee for Illumination that ran for 9 years, from 1960 to 1969.
In this magazine, the scientific activities of the Institute and other Spanish institutions were disclosed, general optics news, informative articles, monographs on institutions dedicated to optics and small portraits of outstanding scientists were offered.
Looking at the careful covers of magazines and their interesting content is a good way to understand the development of optics in Spain in that decade.
