The European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) is the largest event on the continent in terms of optical communication and one of the most prestigious and traditional events worldwide.

The event, which was held in Basel, the cultural capital of Switzerland and its oldest university city, attracts researchers from all over the world, as well as large companies that present their advances in optical materials, devices, systems and networks at the event .
These conferences are a meeting place to share knowledge, exchange ideas, foster innovation and start collaborations worldwide.
The selected article deals with the study of the tunability of new ultralong fiber lasers amplified by Raman, for their use in a more economical generation of ultrashort laser pulses.
We thank the funding entities of the project that made possible the creation of this article, in particular the SINFOTON2-CM program financed by the Community of Madrid.
