The IMOS 2022 program has covered 5 main topics in the field of optics and photonics, such as biophotonics and visual optics, fiber optics and optical communications, integrated optics, quantum computing and communication, and photonics and space engineering.

This meeting bears witness to the Iberian IONS 2020, which could not be held due to the COVID 19 pandemic. IMOS 2022 has served as a platform for students from all over Europe and the world to connect and share their scientific efforts.

The meeting has featured relevant speakers such as Yann Amouroux, Director of OPTICA Europe; CSIC research professor Laura Lechuga, head of the ICN2 Nanobiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group; Professor Pascual Muñoz, director of the UPVfab, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV); and Professor Humberto Michinel, head of the Physical Engineering Laboratory Group at the University of Vigo.

Optics Student Chapter of the University of Aveiro

The Optics student group of the University of Aveiro was founded on April 5, 2013.

As the leading global network in optics and photonics, Optics connects everyone from scientists and students to engineers and business leaders, enabling them to achieve their goals while expanding their potential.

We are the first and only student chapter of Optics in Portugal. The University of Aveiro Optics student group is a non-profit association that seeks to promote Optical Technology in Schools/Universities and in the Community. We strengthen the relationship between the Academy and the Industry, and seek to create a strong international network of students in the field of Optics.

Our main events include presentations in public schools and conferences, the organization and/or participation in international and national conferences/meetings, and the promotion of social events.

Phisics League
Physics League is a non-profit association whose objective is the dissemination of physics, founded in December 2014, its number of members has been growing to the more than 70 that we currently are. We are Physics, Mathematics and Optics undergraduate students, Master’s students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers at the University of Valladolid, Spain. We are part of the European Physics Society (EPS-Young Minds) and OPTICA (former OSA).

Our main activities consist of shows and participatory experiments not only for children, but for all those interested in science. In addition, we do plays and escape rooms. All these activities are carried out in schools and institutes, at the University of Valladolid, in science museums and cultural centers; We also participate in the European Night of Researchers, the Science Week, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and Pint of Science, among other events.

Optics Student Chapter of the Institute of Optics – CSIC
IOPTICA is the student chapter of the Institute of Optics (IO-CSIC).

It was founded in 2007 and is located in Madrid, Spain. We are made up of about 20 young researchers, who work in different fields related to optics and physics. We actively participate in the dissemination of Optical Science among the general population. To achieve this, we hold workshops and give talks at all educational levels, we organize scientific conferences in which renowned scientists participate and special events for the Day of Light, the European Night of Researchers, the Week of Science, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science or LGBT day. We also collaborate with the Department of Scientific Culture of the CSIC, with different projects such as Ciudad Ciencia (Ciudad Ciencia) and Ciencia en el Barrio (Science in the Neighborhood), disseminating science among people who live far from big cities, as well as in the most vulnerable districts.
