Our colleague Sergio Barbero has just published an informative article in the “Coffee and theorems” section of the newspaper El País, explaining the limits that progressive lenses have and what the so-called compatibility equations, recently discovered, imply for those limits.

In the article he also puts us in perspective by telling us the origin of the glasses to correct vision at the end of the 13th century that almost all of us use and their current operation.
