Madrid / February 12, 2024
The following Scientific Café entitled “After 200 years: a new method of visual graduation” will be held. This talk will be given by Víctor Rodríguez López, from Óptica Visual y Biofotónica (VIOBIO). It will take place on Thursday, February 29 at 11:00h in the Conference Room. Afterwards, there will be a coffee in the Club+terrace.
Summary of the talk
Visual grading, fundamental in clinical practice, has undergone few evolutions in the last 200 years. Recent innovations rely on objective methods that lack the subjectivity necessary for an optimal prescription. At VioBio we have developed a new subjective method, called Direct Subjective Refraction, which uses opto-adjustable lenses and a color test, to arrive at a prescription more quickly and accurately than the conventional method, in an easy task for the patient. In this talk, I will tell you about the scientific principle behind this method and its potential impact on the clinic.
