The Optical Radiation Measurements group has provided a spectral radiance meter (spectroradiometer for radiance averaging) for use in the television programme Órbita Laika, which will be broadcast tomorrow, 22 October at 10pm.
The instrument, supervised by our colleague Miguel Gómez del Río, will be used to see how we can identify different pigments in works of art and thus detect forgeries.

For its part, the Optical Radiation Measurements (GIMRO) group develops its research so that the analysis and measurement of optical radiation is done in the best possible way in each circumstance, developing measurement patterns and methods and studying their uncertainties and limitations, in the UV, visible and near infrared ranges.
In particular, it has developed the average patterns of the Photometry, Radiometry and Optical Fiber Laboratory which have been recognized as national standards for the SI units candela and lumen.
